Coach James was born and grew up in Hong Kong. He grew up playing a number of sports including rugby and tennis, but found his passion in football. He is a fresh graduate of Kellett School, and has thoroughly enjoyed his coaching journey on his gap year before he will attend the University of Edinburgh to study Geography, where he plans to continue immersing himself in football and try out new sports.
"What makes a great coach is someone who is able to build positive connections with children and instil a love of sport inside of them. At the foremost of any session, a child must have fun and see the coach as a role model for them to develop."
"I believe that sports are extremely important for young children as it not only encourages the healthy physical development of the child, but also builds fundamental skills such as the ability to listen and follow instructions, teamwork, independence and resilience. Not to mention, kids can build friendships through sports also."
