Coach Harry

Background

I’m from a small village in north wales but originally from a town in greater Manchester called Wigan. Played rugby from a young age where in my career I’ve played over in France and Prague and won 2 back to back league promotions with my university team which achieved us University sports team of the year.

Coaching Style

My coaching style is that every session I want to aim for all my sessions to have fun energetic games which can also be learned into new skills. I try to be as fun and as energetic as possible as the coach so that the kids have something to match in terms of behaviour but manageable also. I tend to use an approach where the children are always thinking about the next game and the skills which are being used through a cognitive coaching style.

Experience

Level 3 diploma in sports, fitness & coaching.

Level 2 sports leaders

Level 3 first aid at work

Bsc (Hons) in PE & School Sport

Qualifications

My coaching experience, is luckily I’ve had a fair bit from my time in sixth form I’ve completed 300+ volunteering hours in my local community and local high schools and primary schools, mirroring coaches and teachers in order to get the best understanding possible which further led to me have a paid role in America for 3 months where I would lead or assist coaches in delivery of football all over America which was a tough challenge but I enjoy tackling every challenge. Through being at university I’ve gathered so much more experience through working in the sporting industry alongside my studies through working in primary school being their PE lead. Making sure that PE is getting delivered alongside core subjects but also more football sessions in a community, where I was lucky to stay in the same role for 2 years prior to my enrolment to Hong Kong.
