Our team of 16 full-time, passionate coaches strive to operate in accordance with the below values:
S – Standards:
We set and uphold high standards in the service we deliver, the way we conduct ourselves, and in health and safety—striving for excellence and acting with honesty in all that we do.
P – Positivity:
We approach every challenge with optimism and a solution-focused mindset, creating an uplifting environment for our team and clients, and responding with empathy, especially when faced with difficult scenarios.
O – Openness:
We communicate constructively and candidly, guided by facts and logic, always acting with the best interests of the team and our clients at heart, and ensuring clarity through prompt dialogue.
R – Role Modelling:
We lead by example, inspiring not only the children and community we coach, but also each other—regardless of our role—through respect, integrity, honest, empathetic engagement, and accountability.
T – Teamwork:
We support one another, and treat each other with respect, recognising that our collective success depends on strong teamwork, cohesion, and inclusivity.
Matthew Paterson
Founder / CEO
Matt is the Founder and CEO of Minisport. He leads the Hong Kong operation while driving franchise expansion into Singapore and Taiwan (with more to come), and oversees the company's tech development, including the Minisport app.
Matt graduated from business school at the University of East Anglia in 2008 and started the Minisport programme coaching children himself. He holds qualifications in mini tennis and a professional child coaching diploma, and remains deeply specialised in the 1.5–6 age group.
Progress and character development sit at the heart of how Matt thinks about Minisport. Milestones, development tracking, and character growth are embedded into the app so parents can see where their child sits developmentally — and how to support them.
Matt has a constant hunger to provide the best possible service for parents — by building high-quality coaching teams, continually enhancing the parent experience, and improving the day-to-day experience for the staff and coaches who deliver the programme.
Matt is also the father of two young children under the age of five, and the experience of being an early-years parent continues to shape how he views the optimisation of the service Minisport provides to families.
