🎯 Introducing Our New Mission: Sport Ready By 5

As we head into a new academic year, we’ve been asking ourselves a simple question:

“What’s the outcome we want for each child we coach at Minisport?”

The answer - "To Get Kids Sport Ready By 5"  now shapes everything we do.

This approach isn’t about pressuring children to “master” one sport. It’s about building broad, transferable foundations so children feel confident stepping into a wide range of sporting environments by the time they’re 5.

🥉Our Three Development Pillars

Our Sport Ready by 5 approach is built on three pillars:

🏃Move Well: balance, agility, coordination, and body control

⛹🏻 Play Well: listening, taking turns, following rules, and staying engaged

🧠 Grow Well: confidence, resilience, teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship

🏁 Why Age 5 Is Our New Finish Line

From Term 1 (Aug–Dec) 2026, we’re refining our programme age range from 1.5–6 years to 1.5–5 years.

By sharpening our focus, we can design every part of the Minisport experience more deliberately for toddlers and preschoolers, including:

🧩 Session structure (how we start, transition, and finish so kids stay engaged)

🗣️ Coaching language (simple cues children can process and act on)

🧠 Attention spans + emotional regulation (realistic expectations and better behavioural support)

🏀 Equipment size and weight (so skills are learned properly, not through compensation)

⏱️ Pace and progression (introducing skills at the right time, in the right order)

🎓 Introducing: Sport Ready Graduation Days

For our 5 year old Explorer students, we’re introducing two annual Sport Ready Graduation Sports Days, held twice per year in December and June.

These events are about recognising commitment, progress, and a child’s readiness to move into the wider world of sport with confidence.

✅ Graduation Eligibility

A child will be eligible to graduate if they:

✅ Are five years old at the start of the term preceding graduation

✅ Are enrolled for the full term of classes leading up to the graduation event

✅ Have attended at least 30 sessions across their full Minisport journey

Parents with children who qualify for these graduations will be contacted in the middle of each term and can opt in or out of the upcoming graduation. Those who wish to stay in the program until the following graduation are welcome to.

📜 Graduation Certificate Levels

Each graduate will receive a personalised certificate reflecting total sessions attended:

⚪️ 30–49 sessions: White Sport Ready Graduation Certificate

🟢 50–69 sessions: Green Sport Ready Graduation Certificate

🟠 70+ sessions: Orange Sport Ready Graduation Certificate

(Camp days count as 1 session, regardless of camp length).

These certificates will also provide a summary of your child’s Minisport journey, including:

📊 Total sessions by sport

💪 All character badges earned

❤️ Sport(s) they’ve shown the most interest in

More details (including exact dates and locations) will be shared at the start of Term 1 (Aug–Dec).

🇭🇰🇬🇧 Expanding Our Team

Over the last two terms, classes have hit capacity at record pace, and we know that left many families disappointed and on waitlists. To meet demand without compromising quality, we are onboarding and training two new professional coaches from the United Kingdom, alongside additional coaching assistants.

This expansion isn’t about squeezing more children into existing sessions. It allows us to open more sessions and venues while protecting the standards that define Minisport — including coach-to-child ratios and the attentiveness required for early years.

⚽️ New, Age-Appropriate Equipment

We’ve continued to invest in a range of new, age-appropriate equipment designed specifically for toddlers and preschoolers. When tools match a child’s size and stage, they can engage more deeply, build confidence faster, and learn correct movement patterns more safely.

🔊 Term 1 Enrolment Dates (Aug–Dec 2026)

11 June: Priority window opens for Silver, Gold, and Platinum loyalty tier users.

18 June: Enrolment opens for parents on the waitlist, and the general public.

🔭 Looking Ahead: The Year Of Becoming Sport Ready By 5

When we look ahead to the new academic year, we don’t just see a calendar.

We see children becoming more coordinated, more confident, and more willing to try. We see coaches delivering higher-quality sessions because systems, equipment, and structure support them. And we see parents feeling more informed, more connected, and more certain that their child is progressing.

That’s what our new approach is truly about: building the strongest possible foundations in the years that matter most.

Thank you for entrusting us with this vital chapter of your child’s development. Together, we’re building a community where each and every one of our students has the opportunity to become Sport Ready by 5.
